Megan is the chef and founder of Forage. She began her culinary career in Los Angeles, working under James Beard Award winning chef, Suzanne Goin (Best Chef in Califronia 2006 and outstanding chef of the year 2016). in the three years that she worked under suzanne at her restaurant AOC, she developed a heightened appreciation for simple yet elegant seasonal cooking that highlights fresh, local produce and quality ingredients. Megan left AOC to pursue her interest in the pastry arts, going to work under James Beard Award winning pastry chef Sherry Yard (outstanding pastry chef 2002), at Wolfgang PUck's Spago in Beverly Hills. in 2010, Megan moved back to her hometown Charlottesville, VA and began Forage shortly thereafter with friend Justin Stone. throughout the first five years of forage's existence, Megan worked as the full time chef at feast, hosting dinners at her home on her days off. she created forage because she wanted an opportunity to continue to develop her culinary skills, have an outlet for creativity and connect to her community. She couldn't be happier with the result.
